This was the lightest merino wool sock Darn Tough makes which is what I wanted since I live in Florida. The problem was I wanted blue and they didn't say ( 2 pairs ) on the same sock in blue. It turns out you do get 2 pairs regardless of color which is logical. I found this out by calling Darn Tough who are friendly and actually answer the phone. If I were them I would sell direct. I also bought a similar sock made by a company called Icebreaker but they aren't as good because they are crew length. The Darn Tough coolmax socks are made of polyester and nylon and are cooler than wool. I tried pair of these too and I liked them except I don't like paying these kind of prices for a synthetic. To round things out I also got the crew length merino wool boot sock. They make these in cushion and full-cushion. The difference is cushion means extra thickness only on the heel.
