(More customer reviews)I own these shoes in Size 9 in the Black/White/Red colorway, and have had them for about a year.My first impression on wearing them was their surprising initial comfort.While most shoes require a 'break in' period before they're really comfortable, these seemed just right - right away.

One nice thing about this shoe is the sole; there is cushioning that provides significant comfort, however this is not provided at the expense of board feel.I can always tell right where the edge of the board is through my shoes which aids greatly while riding.

This shoe is also pretty durable, as skate shoes go.The front part of the shoe is triple-stitched, and while there are places on the toe where two rows of stitching are worn out, there is no place where it's busted all the way through.There is one spot around the edge of the sole that started coming unglued shortly after I started wearing these shoes, but it never got worse than the initial looseness (spanning perhaps a quarter inch, this small section eventually broke off).There is also a cracked spot in the band around the sole where there's a sort of window into the 'shock pad' under the heel - I think this is because it's so thin there.

One kind-of-neat feature of these shoes is that they have varying levels of hardness in the sole, corresponding to the level of wear normally experienced there.I don't know how much of it is true and how much borders on gimmick, but I must note that after a year in these shoes the soles have worn very evenly compared to other brands I've owned.

On the whole, these shoes have held up very well and are by far the best shoes I've skated in (I've worn etnies, airwalk, DC, and nike as I recall).I'd like to try out a pair of Lakai shoes next, but as long as my experience there isn't significantly better, I'll probably stick with DC shoes for a while.
