I mistakenly bought these knee pads, not understanding that they were for kids. I guess that's what the J's mean. While they feel sturdy and are not as bulky as other knee pads, I did not get a chance to try them.I would have if they fit, though.

Pro-Tec Customer Service is excellent in response to my error; just make sure that you pay close attention to the sizing on some of these pads.

I bought these for mountain biking and one of them always gives me a blister on the side of my knee. The sticking seem is on the inside which may look better but it doesn't help with comfort.

Buying a set of protective gear for a slim 3 year old girl over the Internet is a challenge, as most of the sets are made for kids 5 yo and older.
This set was exactly what we were looking for. This fits really nicely and tight.
A must have for young bike riders and razor scooter early adopters.

I got these to protect my wrists and palms while I get the hang of inline skating. I bought the medium size and they fit well. I'm a pretty small guy (5'6", 130lbs). I've fallen once since receiving them (very quick shipping from Amazon) and they protected my wrists and palms perfectly. I'd recommend these to anyone that needs a quality set of wrist guards. The price is good too.

These are very nice looking pads, but I don't know who they are sized for.The sizes available are listed as youth, small, medium, and large.Being a medium-sized woman- I chose the medium size. When I received the pads, I was surprised to find that they are smaller than the ones for my 10 year old son.I will pass them to my 7 year old and look elsewhere.

I'm very disappointed to not be able to safely use my great new rollerblades.

Hillbilly Butt Pads Review

Hillbilly Butt Pads
Average Reviews:

After reading and comparing reviews with the variety of impact shorts available on the market, I took a plunge and made the purchase of these shorts from Amazon for a snowboarding trip. The hillbilly impact shorts that I actually received does not reflect the hideously colored shorts amazon has misrepresented, as the shorts are actually black in color. What a relief!! I wear a 31-32 waist and followed the size chart which designated a size small. The fit of the small, was snug at the waist, not too loose or tight with a thin thermal under. The thigh cuffs have elastic material in them to stretch across the outer diameter of your thigh, since my thigh's aren't big the thigh cuffs for the shorts were free floating which isn't entirely detrimental to the overall purpose of the shorts. Unlike other designs out there, I never once had to realign the shorts due to any shifts in the padding material under my pants. The padding initially may appear to be bulky, but let me tell you these pads really offer the protection that is necessary for snowboarding pitfalls. However, on the same note you might have to buy a pant size up due the bulky nature of the padding. During my snowboarding trip, I caught a number of wrong edges and had my tail end slam against the packed snow so many times I lost count. There were moments when I thought I broke my coccyx, but thanks to the tail shield in the design I can still sit normally at the end of the day. At the end of the trip, I had absolutely no bruising in any of the areas under my impact shorts.

pros: price, padding, tail shield, comfortable

cons: bulky...requires sizing up a pants size, undetachable padding, misrepresented armadillo colored shorts in example image

TSG Professional Elbow Pads (Large) Review

These pads offer excellent protection. Due to their sleeve design, they won't slip off unlike other designs, and will protect you when you really need it. You can wear them as sleeves, but they also have velcro tabs so they're quite flexible.
I've been able to wash them in the washing machine (delicate cycle) and air-dry them with no apparent problems.
Highly recommended.

These are tight and too small for a grown man. They cut into my legs and arms. The so-called extra large set seem like they were made for a 10 year old. Now that I think of it, I should just give them to my 10 year old.

Haven't crashed yet to test out the protection, but they don't seem too promising in that department...

Pro-Tec Park Skate Knee Pads Review

Pro-Tec Park Skate Knee Pads
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased the Army Green knee pads for protection when playing airsoft on the rocky Texas terrain. For its function as aprotection from sharp blows, these pads are excellent. Other criteria for good knee pads are a secure fit, and comfort. These have been the most secure pads I've owned, and I've used at least four different models from my days playing paintball.

My initial discomfort with this pads however is the reason for the 4-star rating. Let me first say that my experience can be subjective, as these pads are designed for skate park use. As you can see from the photos, these pads have a natural bend to them, supporting a bent-knee stance common among bladers or bike riders. For airsoft and paintball, the wearer is likely standing up or running with legs extended. This causes the bottom edge of the pad to dig into the shin or bottom knee cap. I have several friends who have owned these pads for a while, and they say the discomfort will go away after the padding has broken in. I sure hope so, because then I would rate the Park pads a solid five.

I was worried that these pads might be too small for my seven year old, but they are very adjustable and look like they would fit kids much older and even smaller adults. The gel cushion seems like it will protect well.

Rollerblade Pro Gear 3 Pack Review

Rollerblade Pro Gear 3 Pack
Average Reviews:

I bought this set to go with my Razor Pro kick scooter, which I got to keep up with my four-year old on his scooter rides.I'm 6', average-proportioned/sized guy, and I had some doubts about ordering XL as opposed to just Large, in case the XL set ended up being too large.I finally figured it'd be better to have it a bit too big than a bit too small, so I opted for XL.

The set consists of three pairs of protective gear, for the knees, elbows, and wrist/palm.The elbow and knee pads have stretchy backing, and you pull them through your legs/arms.After properly positioning them, the stretchy velcro strips (about 1" wide) keep them secure in place.

The elbow pads are fine for me, but the knee pads--XL and all--are almost, but not quite, too small for me.My wife says I have "tree-trunk" legs, so that may have something to do with it.I can still wear the knee pads fine, but the velcro pads are a bit too short to go fully around.I can still use them, though.I may do a bit of home-DIY sewing to extend the length of the velcro strap.

The wrist/palm guards are a lot like the wrist braces.A bent piece of rubber-coated metal wrapped in velcro/stretchy brace.Comfortable to wear, although it gets in the way of gripping the scooter handles (figures, as the set probably is designed for rollerblading and not scooter riding).I will probably forego the wrist guards and continue using my cycling gloves.

The components seem well made and durable. For $22 that I paid for the set, I am happy enough with them.I gave it four-star because I feel like an XL set for adults should really be large enough to accommodate those who are larger than my 6ft frame.

Rollerblade Pro 3 Pad Pack - Junior 2011 Review

Rollerblade Pro 3 Pad Pack - Junior 2011
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These pads, especially the knee pads, have been dropped on multiple times. They are badly scuffed, but our 7-year-old son is not! These pads have given our son more confidence to learn to roller blade because he is not afraid to fall. Consequently, he is aggressively testing his limits on the skates and his skill is improving dramatically in a short time.

After watching Disney on Ice and then the Winter Olympics, our son is keenly interested in skating. He reenacts skating scenes (speed skating, figure skating, humorous scenes, etc) complete with falls. The pads enable him to fall freely, even joyfully, as they keep him pain free.

The pads are easy on/off - our son can mostly do it for himself. The knee/elbow pads have two attaching mechanisms: an elastic sleeve into which you slide the leg/arm, and velcro retaining straps for extra hold. He needs a bit of help with the final wristguard strap that wraps completely around the wrist. He'll soon manage this as well. The pads are clearly marked right/left so you put it on the correct knee/elbow.

In addition to a good helmet, the only other item I would recommend are a pair of gloves (for beginning skaters). Fingers extend beyond the wrist guard and are subject to scraping during falls. In summary, we like this product. Our son likes it because he can learn to skate without fear of knee, elbow, wrist pain. We (parents) like it because we are confident that our rough-and-tumble son is well protected.
