I wrote a lengthy review already, but can't find it or reference to Tour de triathletes on-line.Do not use this vendor! My order did not arrive as scheduled, but I was willing to wait another month. When I tried to call back and cancel, I couldn't get a hold of anyone - either by email or the number listed.I called and emailed numerous times! Finally I disputed the charge with the credit card company and let Amazon customer service know.

Of course, Amazon customer service responded within the time frame they promised and I will hopefully get the charge reversed shortly.

I will definitely never order from Tour de triathletes again!

I really like this helmet.I have already taken a few hard hits and it is going strong.I ride bmx and regularly hit 6' tall jumps.Protec has always been the helmet that I trust.I have received several concussions from tricks gone bad, but if I hadn't been wearing a helmet, it would have been a lot worse. The thing about the Protec classic skate helmet is the sizing. My head measures 23.2" around, which is the minimum in the xl size range, but the helmet is still relatively loose. The helmet stays on my head, but I would have preferred a slightly tighter fit.I also tried the large version of this same helmet, and it was way to tight. So if you are somewhere in between the size increments, the helmet won't fit perfectly. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.Other than that, the helmet is perfect. And the green is really bright.

I've been roller blading the streets of Manhattan for 18 years now.I have had several falls over the years.Normally, my skates lose grip (from rain, restaurant grease, etc...) and I go into a baseball type of slide (low side crash). But, yesterday, in the dark Manhattan night, I hit a metal grating on the sidewalk and it grabbed my skate, high-siding me like superman at around 20 mph.My body hit first and then my head came crashing down shortly thereafter.Even with the helmet, I sustained a mild concussion.I can't imagine not having on some kind of helmet during this impact.I'm giving this one 5 stars just because it allowed me to be typing this right now. But, I would have preferred to have on a motorcycle helmet during this incident!

Triple Eight Brainsaver Skateboard Helmet - Rubber Black Review

Triple Eight Brainsaver Skateboard Helmet - Rubber Black
Average Reviews:

I needed a helmet because you have to have one to ride a bike or waveboard on base. After a bunch of reasearch and trying to read other reviews, I decided on this one because i did not want a normal looking bike helmet. The rubber coating on the outside is very smooth and it looks good too.

Pros:
-There are multiple air vents (11 of them total) to keep your head cool while riding.

-The sweatband material absorbers that cover the inside of the helmet are easily removable via velcro, which makes for easy washing when they get too dirty.

-Thick foam on the top for protection.

-Does not move too much when properly adjusted and does not sink down into your field of vision.

-Accomodates glasses with no problem

Cons:
-The price is a little more, but it isn't that much more than comparable models/styles. Depending on brand its about 5-10 dollars more.

-Size, I wear a 7 1/4 hat size and I ordered a large. The size chart says that it should accomodate up to a 59cm (7 3/8) but it fits a bit tight.
7 1/4 is approaching the limits of comfort.

I would recommend this helmet to those that wear the size listed. Hopefully I will never have to see if it will protect me from a split skull or concussion, but if I crash I will post an update.

Bell Edge Youth Bicycle Helmet (Pink Skull and Xbones) Review

Bell Edge Youth Bicycle Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The helmet is pretty much as described, but the description lacks a piece of crucial information: youth = age 8+. At the time of my purchase, that information was missing. I didn't find out until I opened the box that I'd bought a helmet for my 5 yr old niece that she can't use for a few more years. It's huge. I know there are measurements, but those dimensions could mean anything. Even using a hat size would be more sensible. Otherwise, I am pleased with the quality and the ease of use. It meets the standards of the Children's Product Safety Commission so I trust its fitness. The design is cute. The skull's eyes are hearts. Great value.

Bell Toddler Boy's Bicycle Helmet, Knee Pads, and Elbow Pads Value Pack (Blue Hang 10) Review

Bell Toddler Boy's Bicycle Helmet, Knee Pads, and Elbow Pads Value Pack
Average Reviews:

My 3 year old son loves this helmet and pads set.It fits him well and is adjustable as he grows. The only issue that we have with it is that the adhesive on the pads inside extends to the sides, so his hair always got stuck to it and pulled when he took it off.We did end up replacing the pads with some we purchased from a local bike store. He thinks the surfer dog is funny and it's never an issue getting him to put it on when he wants to go skating. The elbow and knee pads are not as well made as the helmet and only the circle with the picture on it really offers any protection.Still, I haven't found a better set yet that he'll actually wear and I don't figure that he'll be all that aggressive with his gear just yet anyway. For a three year old, it serves its purpose well.

Bern Nina Summer Youth Multi-Sport Helmet Review

Bern Nina Summer Youth Multi-Sport Helmet
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product appears to be good quality, until you try to change the attachment. It comes with two attachments, one for snow sport and one for biking. The snow sport attachment is fuzzy and warm, covers the entire ear. The biking attachment is simply soft padding between the head and the helmet.

The attachments are designed to snap onto the helmet via four snap buttons. These buttons need to snap into button holes drilled directly on the plastic helmet. The holes on the helmet seem to have irregular sizes. This means some of the buttons will fit into the holes too loosely and some of them are too tight. The holes that originally fit well turned loose after a few snapping action. I have recently purchased and returned two of these helmets that have exactly the same problem, which leads me to believe that the entire batch of helmets must have similar problems. Plus one of the snap button fell off from the snow attachment altogether when it was unsnapped from a very tight hole. They really should have grommets mounted on the plastic helmet for the buttons to snap into.

All in all, not usable. I gave it two star because besides the snap button issues, rest of the helmet appears to be good quality. My kid really like the style. If you can use the thing without ever having to change the attachment, it could be a good purchase. But then maybe you don't need to buy a multisport helmet in that case.

Giro Hex Bike Helmet Review

Giro Hex Bike Helmet
Average Reviews:

Pros:
Air ventilation is truly excellent, fit is snug and comfortable, feels very light, the visor does not chatter in the wind, the helmet's design is fairly stylish.

Cons:
The straps often need to be pushed away from the back of my ears, the rubber part of "overmolded arm" on the RocLoc system inside the helmet interferes with the back tips of my glasses. The helmet is used mainly for my daily commute. The RocLoc system makes the helmet fit well but at the expense of not being able to wear sunglasses comfortably. I wanted to try the Giro brand after I wore out my excellent Bell X-Ray helmet. When this Giro Hex wears out I will replace it with a new Bell X-Ray.

The Giro Hex Mountain Bike Helmet is constructed with in-mold technology that fuses a tough outer microshell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. The fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, making the helmet lighter, cooler and tougher. The Hex utilizes Giro's Roc Loc 4 system, which includes adjustments for fit tensioning and helmet positioning, plus a supple rubber over-molded fit belt for both comfort and stability.
This Giro helmet features 21 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out. The Giro Hex also features a P.O.V. (Point Of View) adjustable visor that is anchored by a patented internal clutch, which allows 15-degrees of vertical adjustment and prevents the visor from rattling and coming loose over rough terrain.
The Hex mountain helmet comes in three Super Fit sizes, which combine human scale factor data with handcrafted headforms and rider feedback for ultimate comfort. This is a very comfortable helmet with a nice fit. Most of the helmets you'll find in this price range don't fit well.Believe me, I've tried a number of them. But this one fits me great. My wife has the same model and it fits her well too, thanks to the dial-fit system.

One small piece of advice: It has a more rounded appearance from the front than most bike helmets do.So if you don't like the thought of a "round" look when someone's looking at you straight on, this might not be the helmet for you.

This is an excellent helmet and it works too.I gave it a crash test last month when I was hit by a car (I was doing 25 mph) and hit my head hard on the asphalt. The helmet didn't break or crack and I didn't suffer any type of head injuries.I was so impressed, I replaced it with the same model. The fit is great and I wore it on a 200 mile one day ride without any discomfort. It isn't a cheap helmet, but what kind of price do you put on your life?

The Garmin color isn't bad either.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Giro Ionos Road Bike Helmet

Product Description:
The Ionos is the most technologically advanced road cycling helmet Giro has ever created. The Ionos is built around a proprietary in-mold composite sub-frame (ICS) that provides the strength to support 21 of the largest vents ever carved into a bike helmet. These massive vents, coupled with an intricate network of internal channels, creates a cooling system dubbed Wind Tunnel ventilation, making Ionos the coolest, best-ventilated helmet on the market. The helmet is perfect for keeping Grand Tour champions like Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador cool on the hottest days and over the most tortuous Alpine climbs.

The helmet's Wind Tunnel ventilation thrusts cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head. Ionos Technologies
The Ionos helmet employs some of the most advanced technologies that Giro has ever used in a bike helmet. The Ionos' in-mold construction, for example, fuses the helmet's outer shell with the impact-absorbing EPS liner. Not only does this reinforce both layers, but the "exoskeleton" also allows Giro to engineer helmets that are lighter, more durable, and better ventilated. This culminates in the helmet's proprietary Wind Tunnel ventilation system, which combines active vents with internal exhaust channels that thrust cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head while forcing heat and stale air out. By definition, a channel is a route through which anything passes or progresses. In the case of Giro helmets, the internal channels are carefully crafted and are one of the keys to a well-ventilated helmet. This significant increase in air channeling makes a difference that riders will feel immediately.
The secret behind the vent technology is the in-mold composite subframe, which lets Giro offer huge vents without compromising protection. The Ionos features a visible weave of carbon reinforcement that runs through the helmet's liner and around the vents. By using these advanced materials, the sub-frame can be tuned to provide incredible structural support, impact dispersion, and resistance to penetration.
Padding and Fit
The Ionos offers X-Static helmet padding, which is entwined with an environmentally friendly silver-coated fabric called Silver Fiber. Found exclusively in Ionos helmets, the fabric provides anti-microbial and thermodynamic benefits, so in addition to keeping you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, your helmet will stay fresh all year round. Finally, the Ionos helmet is engineered using Super Fit technology, making it so comfortable that it virtually disappears when you put it on. The proprietary three-size Super Fit system is based on "human scale factors" data and nearly 20 years of crafting helmets for the best riders in the world. The result is a helmet that fits 98 percent of the world's population, yet looks and feels like it was made just for you.
About Giro
Giro, based in Scotts Valley, California, is a worldwide leader in the design, development, and marketing of premium, high-performance protective gear and accessories for action sports and active lifestyles. Giro is an innovative, consumer-focused brand, with a mission to create products on the leading edge of inspired design to help you to look good and feel your best.

This is a very good bell for the price. My two complaints for it:
1) It only realistically goes on the left handlebar. Putting it on the right doesn't seem to allow for easy bell ringing.
2) If I leave my bike out in the rain and the bell gets wet, it doesn't want to work unless I "ring" it out about 10 times.
