Rollerblade Pro XT Inline Skates Review

My first impression was of amazement and excitement when I received my skates. Unfortunately, my happiness started to fade away when I first used them. The first flaw in the design are the wheels. I was skating in a basemanet (smooth floor) and my wheels started to crack everywhere. On the third day of skating, one of wheels was completeley destroyed, even though I never took the skates through a rough surface.

Even though, I had a bad experience with the wheels, I quickly changed them for some Hyper Wheels. Things ran smoother after that, until yesterday (two weeks later!!!) when the joint on my boot fell off. So now, one of my skates is not supporting my leg or ankle, making me wobble from side to side.

I don't know if it's just my luck, or this product is faulty, since a friend of mine (a girl) has bought the same skates (but obviously te women's line), and she has no complains until now.

As for me, I'm buying a new pair of skates, since these hace caused me a lot of trouble. If you need more proof, here's a link with some photos of my wheel and the skate that broke:

Hope this review helps you in your decision...

These are the last skates Rollerblade made with the Advanced Braking Technology (ABT), which was an excellent aid to help beginners to learn braking and a totally acceptable braking method for experienced skaters also.Sad, and it will be missed. Suspect it was a victim of cost cutting during these the poor economic times.
The down side of the Astro 8.0 is that the wheel frame is not square to the boot frame and they need to be shimmed square to be useable.Later Rollerblades have a one piece wheel/boot frame which would eliminate allignment quality control problems in the third world countries where they are made and assembled.

These skates didn't quite last two days.I purchased the size 13 skates, because normally I wear a size 14 shoe and when I tried the 13's on (the largest size most inline skate companies seem to produce) they seemed to fit nicely. And the first time I took the skates out for a trial run, they seemed to be great!I was very happy to have found these skates.

Unfortunately, the second time I took them out for a skate on the local bike path (the same route I skated the first day), I noticed that the right skate suddenly felt loose, and that I had no right-ankle support. After stopping and inspecting the skate, I found that the top buckle-in support strap wouldn't stay closed, making that skate much too loose for wear. It's hard to describe here, but the mechanism that's supposed to hold that strap tight rests on an unbelievably tiny hook, fastened in by a correspondingly unbelievably tiny piece of plastic. This mechanism had apparently broken or failed in the course of 48 hours of use.I've since returned the skates, my search for quality inline skates in my size continues, and I strongly recommend against this particular model.

I am still a beginner, and I find these to be excellent inline skates. My opinion might not matter much, but I think these strike a fine balance between being cheap enough for the novice to buy without fear of losing money and good enough for the skilled to use without noticing any lack in features.
Comfortable fit also, assuming you use the "half a size larger" rule. My shoe size is around 12, so I got 12.5 (I think this applies to the Rollerblade brand only; other brands might require different adjustments for size).
I don't have a single complaint with these, and I would recommend them even more for the beginner, since I've found these to be an excellent first pair of inline skates.

Very nice set of inline skates. Just like any other new set of skates it is takes a short time for the bearings and wheels to get broken in. Build and quality are very good. The aluminum frame is very nice compared to the plastic frames, the 80mm wheels are pretty quick even though they are not broken in. The skates were accurately described and were delivered in a timely manner.

These are my first pair of in-line skates.I tried on at least 9 pairs prior to settling on these. They weren't a perfect fit, but I figured that they would stretch as I used them and that hopefully they would become the perfect fit. They definitely were the closest any skate came to the perfect fit of all the different models I tried on.

They are secure and seem pretty solid.I've been using them for 6 weeks now and I am very happy with them.

I would encourage anybody who is a beginner (like me) to stay in this price range until you are sure you like the sport and until you've gottengood enough to actually need the more expensive skates. These are very good skates for exercise and recreation. You wouldn't want to race or do tricks in them.

Also, I would encourage you to try on the skates at a store first and then buy them on Amazon afterwards. You really can't buy skates without trying them on.You have to make sure they fit right.Oh, and wear the sock you will wear when skating when you try them on.

In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. Okay, so I just got these skates yesterday evening, and yeah, I'm used to $30 skates, but geez these are comfortable! I took them for a spin last night. They roll very smoothly, and they feel very light on my feet, even though I don't think they're actually any lighter than my old ones. They're really supportive of my ankles, and all around just really nice skates. I tried on the K2 Athena 6.1 skates also, and actually liked these better. The other (more expensive) ones squashed my feet. Maybe I would've just needed a bigger size in those, but I wonder why? I really like these skates so far. I'll update when I've had more experience on them.

I purchased the K2 Moto for my boyfriend, who has been skating on rollerskates since childhood, but has not had experience on in-line skates. The skates are very attractive--visually appealing when you get them out of the box and put them on.

The boot is soft with a decent amount of ankle support and a fast lacing system. They are comfortable and verybreathable. The keel length is slightly longer than the boot length, improving the fore and back stability while not restricting the maneuverability too much.

In short, this is a good multi-purpose skate. The K2 Moto is fast and stable while retaining a decent degree of maneuverability.

If you are not sure your child will get into aggressive inline skating, you might want to get these. However, if they like the sport, they will most certainly want a REAL pair of aggressive skates within a month. Having decent equipment makes all the difference. I would recommend Razor or USD Junior skates which run around 100 bucks and are adjustable up to 4 sizes. The TRS Junior skate by rollerblade is better than this Fury skate, but not nearly as good as the other 2 junior skates mentioned. If you are not a junior size, I would recommend any other Rollerblade aggressive models...some are as cheap as 130$ or any Razor models.I have been skating for 11 year and have taught for many years.

Crappy product... even crappier return policy. Save your time and money... if you want cheap rollerblades that are at least safe, go to Wal mart or Targert.

They look like 5 star out of the box. The shoes have a great mix of materials. Carbon for stiffness, mesh for breathability and leather to look precius.
Nevertheless, after about 300 miles the mesh has holes, the carbon shaft has cut into the fabric below and the coated leather is flaking at stressed parts of the shoe tongues.
The quality of this shoes is just embarrassing for a brand like K2.
